Who we are

Working as a small business owner in the creative industry can, at times, be lonely. As makers, we can often be found working hard in our studios and workshops and as a result we don’t get many opportunities to meet other artists who understand the work we do.

The Creative Makers Network was set up in 2023 by designer and maker; Jenni Cabrelli and is a place for all types of makers, artists, crafters and designers to come together, share advice, ask for advice, learn, connect and grow their creative businesses. We are passionate about spreading awareness to all of the incredible work handmade artists do.

About Jenni Cabrelli

Jenni Cabrelli is a designer, crafter and maker from Leicestershire, England. After starting her career as a graphic designer in 2006, she first ventured into making and selling her own handmade products at craft markets in 2011 and set up her first Etsy shop in 2013.

After leaving her role as Creative Director for a brand agency at the end of 2019 following a battle with post-natal depression, she took the leap to become a full-time self employed artist and maker and set up The Handmade Sign Company in January 2020.

The business went on to become a multi-award winning calligraphy business within it’s first year of trading, including gaining national acclaim in it’s industry for the high quality of work she provided. During this time she also successfully organised and ran regular networking events for small business owners in the wedding industry, where she discovered her passion for supporting fellow business owners.

The year 2021 brought unprecedented challenges with the pandemic-induced lockdowns, putting a halt to the wedding industry. Undeterred, Jenni utilised her graphic design skills to open a new Etsy store. Within a remarkably short span of time after opening, the store emerged as a top-performing store in the UK, earning numerous best-selling products and garnering thousands of glowing five-star reviews.

Today, Jenni continues to nurture her Etsy stores whilst focusing on her passion to support fellow creative makers to succeed in their own businesses through The Creative Makers Network.

Outside of her artistic achievements, Jenni works from her home which she shares with her husband, two daughters, and their golden retriever, Ozzy, and is a passionate advocate for mental health, using her own experiences to spread awareness of how creativity can be beneficial in aiding mental well-being.
